This week has been a week of ups and downs, and twists and turns. I followed the signs, and kept on the right path though. I have been keeping up in my weight loss program. I had such an eventful past few weeks that it is hard to keep track everything, and on top of all that eat right, and exercise. I still go to the gym at least three times a week. I work out an hour Mondays and Fridays with my trainer Rigo. He keeps pushing me to the max. I no longer work out alone; I work out with another contestant, and her name is Sandra. It is a lot more fun when there is someone to talk to, and complain about the exercises to. Everyone is doing his or her best. We are shedding pounds week after week. What amazes me, is that most of the women, and one of the men in this program not only are doing this, but are working or going to school, and have children they need to raise, and feed. Why does this amaze me? Well if you think about having children in the house, they are prone to junk food, and they bring the unhealthy items home with them, or they want to go out to eat, or they ask their parents to cook something fatty. Needless to say, they still manage to stay on top of the program. The man and woman who are currently in the lead, winning the program are both parents. Scotty, is a father, husband, and a working man. Dominique, is a mother of a middle-school son, wife to a wonderfully supportive husband who comes to every weigh-in that he can make. As for me, I had a wonderful holiday, surrounded by food that I resisted. The weekend before Thanksgiving was my godson’s birthday party. Then my cousins came down from Sacramento, and my brother came up from San Luis Obispo. We had a great family dinner. We took a new Christmas picture because I look so much better than in the last one we took in August. Although, I have been afraid to step on a scale after two big meals: spaghetti dinner Wednesday night, and turkey dinner Thursday night. It was a great holiday, and overall I have lost 22 pounds, but who knows after those big dinners if I gained more or what happened. All in all everyone in the Gilroy #1Loser Contest is doing great. We are all staying as close as we can to our diets, wearing our body buggs, and exercising. A rough estimate of how much the nine of us lose a week would be at least 50 pounds overall. We are moving on up, or down if you look at the numbers. I am feeling great, more energetic, and a whole lot happier. |
