Ignacio R. Moya, best known as Nacho, is an art major at Gavilan College. Since he was seven years old he has found a passion and love in art. Twenty years ago, during 6th grade in Guanajuato, Mexico, he won first place in a drawing contest. Inspired by an adult friend, Nacho started working on techniques and began to use more colored and drawing techniques such as abstract, oil, acrylics, pencil, water color and charcoal. Moya would like to master the aerosol painting style. Here in the Gavilan area, he has volunteered on three murals; one in San Martin elementary school, Hollister, and GHS Cesar Chavez library. And what he really loves the most is mixing his techniques and creates his own style. “I love my Artwork because it is my own style and ideas,” Moya said. He feels proud of his artwork and says he never copies or tries to imitate someone else’s work. He says nobody else has the same paintings he has. He gets so attached to his one-of-a-kind works, that sometimes he won’t part with them, even if someone offers to buy them. Moya admires Van Gough’s work but never tried to imitate his art and style. Moya’s dreams are to open a gallery where he can show his artwork, exhibit his paintings around the world and be known by many people.
Moya would like to help out with even more community art projects and help children find the love for art, just as his friend helped him twenty years ago. |
