More than seven years of playing basketball paid off for one Gavilan College basketball player. Jesse LoBue signed a letter of intent on April 16 to attend the University of California, Riverside to play basketball. LoBue, a 6-foot-7-inch, 200 pound player, will be playing with a full scholarship starting next fall. Hard work, consistency, great athleticism, and a lot of potential helped LoBue earn the scholarship, according to his coach Tito Addison. LoBue averaged 18 points, 7 rebounds per game, and a shooting percent of 85 from the free-throw line. This athlete earned first team all conference honors in the east coast conference.
“I feel Tito is a great coach, he helped me a lot,” LoBue said. LoBue has a lot of strength offensively but he still needs to work defensively and the place where he is going will help him perfect his way of playing on the court. Playing for the NBA is one of his main dreams, and the Warriors is his first choice. But before getting there he plans on earning his BA degree at UC Riverside and playing basketball as far as he can.
He feels this is a huge opportunity, playing basketball and getting a great education is what makes him happy the most. He is planning on working even harder to stay focused on the game as well as in school to achieve more triumphs in life. He is expected to play the position of third guard and he is the type of player that adapts to the different systems of playing right away. |
