After 10 years of a very popular PS1 game, Final Fantasy 7, a new game, Crisis Core is out. The main character, Zach, is a sub-character from the original game.  In Crisis Core, Zach starts as a 2nd class soldier aching to become a 1st class soldier, which he eventually becomes. He idolizes Sephiroth who is the war hero. That’s right, the same Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7.  But this time, he is good guy who will soon become a bad guy.
The plot is about a famous soldier, Genesis, who is missing in action along with a scientist, Hollander. It is Zach’s job to recover the missing people.  However, he finds a deep conspiracy as to why they are missing.  In this game, there’s no easy level.  It’s only normal or hard.  So, choose your own difficulty. The battle format is a one-man show with no allies to help Zach. He uses only a sword, and he tries to get a more famous sword called the Buster Sword.  Yes the same sword that Cloud uses from Final Fantasy 7.

In the Crisis Core battle, Zach he has magic powers and sometimes summoning power.  He can take 12 monsters by himself. The best battle is when Zach takes on Sephiroth as a duel.  It is the last showdown during the mission of Nibelheim, where they fought.     Crisis Core reminds me of a Star Wars spin-off.  They started off with Final Fantasy 7, and then they spun off of that to Crisis Core. The characters change in the story and the conspiracy becomes bigger and more confusing between Final Fantasy 7 and Crisis Core.

Some of the sub-characters in Crisis Core will go one to be main characters in Final Fantasy 7. I'm pleased to say that Crisis Core is a great game and barring a few minor issues here and there, and you will not be disappointed.   The idea of this game it that it is a prequel to Final Fantasy 7 before the actual crisis. One of the video game character’s quotes that really inspire me is, “Embrace your dream and defend your own honor.” People should live by that quote, even if it is a figure of speech from a video game.
