Bon Jovi rocks out the stage in San Jose PDF Print E-mail

There ain’t no breaks on this Lost Highway for Jon Bon Jovi and his band. Bon Jovi has sold millions of albums during their careers, performed more than 2,500 concerts in over 50 countries for over 32 million fans. So it came as no surprise that their latest album "Lost Highway," released in June of 2007, debuted at the number one spot worldwide. Following the success of their album, came a worldwide tour, featuring American Idol contestant, Chris Daughtry, as their opening act. In many cities such as Anaheim, Philadelphia, Chicago, Toronto, Atlanta, and San Jose, had such a high demand for tickets that they scheduled two performances for that city.

With so many performances on the Lost Highway tour, the stage set-up was stunning. Hanging behind the stage were screens that were see-thru similar to blinds, with images of the band, dancers, and images of American lifestyles. The stage itself had a red carpet appeal with the back floor elevating throughout the show.

Daughtry opened up the show with a few of their hit songs from their self titled album and had everyone’s attention. Although it was a rather short segment, it was quite impressive and very entertaining. If and when they headline their own tour, I will be sure to attend.

Bon Jovi entered the sold-out HP Pavilion with a bang singing "Lost Highway." After the last note of the song, Jon Bon Jovi took a second to look at the crowd and noticed that not every fan in the arena was standing. Since he and his band came a long way to perform for San Jose, he wanted everyone on their feet. For the remaining duration of the show, every audience member was on their feet, singing their hit songs, throwing their fists up in the air and enjoying every minute of the show.

Although the theme of their tour was based off of their latest album, Bon Jovi performed more of their classic songs, rather than their latest songs. About four songs they performed were from their "Lost Highway" album and the rest were songs from their classic albums such as "Have A Nice Day," "Crossroads," and "Slippery When Wet." The audience was filled with people of all ages, and it was impressive that no matter what their age was, they recognized and knew many of their classic songs. Jon Bon Jovi himself even mentioned that their song "Runaway" was twenty-four years old, and it amazed him that everyone still knew the song.

Many fans have been following Bon Jovi for over twenty years, and have gained more and more fans throughout the years. To this day, they are still selling out thousands of shows, selling millions of albums and are performing with the same energy they had twenty years ago. Their performance was phenomenal, it was a concert that I will never forget. If Bon Jovi tours again, I recommend that you get your tickets quick before they sell out. Although the price may be high, it will be worth every penny.
